ABOUT THE EVENT
Step away from the usual Friday night plans and into an intimate evening of collage, conversation, and creativity… analog style!
Collage Atelier Night is a hands-on creative experience hosted by Via Rutkowski, founder of Girls Got Chops, and Ani Youssoufian at the beautiful Youssoufiani Studio in Jersey City. Via will lead you in the collage experience, sharing her intuitive approach to taking pieces of what already exists and turning them into something entirely new.
The best part? Collage artistry really has no rules. Follow the images you're drawn to, put together the things you love, experiment, and see where they take you. Together we will give a pile of recycled magazines a second life. No art experience necessary, just come curious!
With only 7 seats available, the evening is intentionally small and personal. Come with friends or come solo, unplug, make something with your hands, and meet some like-minded creatives along the way.
THE EXPERIENCE
Via will guide you through creating your own abstract collage using recycled magazine pages and a curated collection of creative supplies.
Browse, cut, arrange, experiment, and make it your own. At the end of the evening, you will seal your original collage in an 8 × 10 frame, ready to take home or give as a gift.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
The basics of analog collage and how to work intuitively with found imagery
How to cut, layer, arrange, and compose images into an abstract piece
How to trust your eye and create without rules or a predetermined outcome
How to find unexpected connections between images, colors, shapes, and textures
YOUR TICKET INCLUDES
An intimate 7-person-only atelier experience
A hands-on guided collage workshop led by Via
All collage supplies: magazines, scissors, glue, etc. (no need to bring anything)
